My full name is actually I Wayan Susana but my friends call me Wayan Apple, as it is a lot easier for people to remember. The oldest of two brothers, I was born September 22th, 1976 in a small village called Pengaji, Payangan on the north side of Ubud village. As with most other people in my village, I have lived there for my whole life, I am learning a lot from Bali Culture and first learning from my family’s, my parents always teach me how to make live become balance they always say to me you have to be “patient” and “be grateful “ in Live J,
My family life is almost a farmer, but my parents were interested become sellers in the traditional market. When I was little kid my parents always took me to sell something like banana , vegetables, fruit, banana leaf and flowers at Ubud Market, is known as the cultural center of Bali and as a land of artists. It is a place where you have the opportunity to see the real Bali. Located on Jl. Raya Ubud, Ubud Market has kept much of its traditional charm, with squatting Balinese sellers haggling loudly among spices and vegetables. The market also sells handicrafts which mostly were made in the neighboring villages of Mas, Tegalalang, and more.
The teach me how to fight with life. With the results of their sweat, I finally I only finished high school, as I could not afford to attend the university, Although I have continued studying English and other subjects on my own. I am very grateful that they have been able to send me to school, To this day have my dream to send all my kid to school and be in university.
I never aspired to be a guide, but I can say quite honestly that I am very proud of my vocation. I am proud to have a chance to share my beautiful country with people and introduce them to Bali's unique culture. I am also a Balinese dancer , I always danced the topeng dance. Topeng dance is a dance with played by using mask or topeng, the word topeng is basically came from the word tup which means tutup or closed so it became topeng which it means closed or mask. The histories of topeng is appear in 818 caka or 896 century which found written source in prasati Bebetin in time where Ugrasena became a king. There are two type of topeng dance first is Topeng Tari Wali and the second one is Topeng Pajengan but basically the topeng dance is function relate to religious ceremonial in the temple or outside the temple like Manusa Yadnya, and Pitra Yadnya.
I've worked at the shop, be a waiter at the restaurant, be a painter, and than open my own shop and tourist information and become Buying agent for export. For a few years I meet people and give them information about where to stay, where to go and to introduce people to the local villages and their way of life. It was a great time for me to brush up on my English, as I had a lot of opportunities to practice it. As I matured and became more proficient in my communication skills, I was tempted to share more about the island's beauty. This naturally led me to become a driver and guide, and in a short time I began taking people on wonderful tours all around the island.
Among the many rewards I have gained from being a guide is a renewed sense of pride and appreciation for the natural beauty and the incredible richness of its culture. I am eager to share all its beauty with everyone who wants to see and experience the real Bali. As someone who has spent my whole life living in the countryside, I know where to find the magical, hidden parts of the island as well as all the famous tourist resorts.
Backed by all the experience and knowledge that I have gained over the years, my goal is nothing short of giving my clients the ultimate vacation in Bali. I am proud to share all the beauty and mystery of my country with you so that you may bring home wonderful stories to tell your loved ones, and memories that will last a lifetime.
